Still Plenty of Things to do in Paris

As one of the great cultural hubs of Europe, Paris is constantly the host of many arts events. The French capital might look like its focus is solely on Christmas at the moment, but if you look in the right places, you’ll find many other events that aren’t focused on the festive season.

With cheap flight to Paris currently in abundance, now is a great time to see different sides of the city.

Two Events Not to be Missed

During December, the Gaite Lyrique will have on a new and exclusive programme of concerts and performances. The building is Paris’s leading venue for the digital arts, and there are two exhibitions that will be on during the Christmas period that especially shouldn’t be missed.

Famous Carousel provides an opportunity to examine outdated technology, with a theme of how objects that have been rendered obsolete can still be recycled with new technologies. Pictoplasma, meanwhile, will be looking at the design and function of digitally designed monsters, and will be extremely interesting for those who like animated film.

Alongside the Christmas celebrations currently held in the French capital, the Paris Autumn Festival is also taking place. Now in its final month, the next few weeks will be the last that visitors to the city will be able to attend some of the many events that are on. With opera, film, dance and performing arts featuring in its extensive programme, the Autumn Festival is one of Paris’s biggest events on the yearly calendar.

If you’re in the centre of the city, you’ll find many top venues hosting performances daily, but visit the festival’s website if you’d like to see something a little more specific.
