Attractions/Events
There is plenty to see and do in Paris, we could be here for a long time talking about it all. However, we have picked the five must see major attractions to visit after arriving on cheap flights to Paris.
Champ Elysees – Fashion boutiques, cute cafes, cinemas, this street has it all and the accolade as being the most expensive street in the world! There is also some amazing architecture to enjoy. Make sure you have your wallet ready when paying a visit here.
Eiffel Tower – There’s not a lot more that we can say about the Eiffel Tower that you don’t already know. The level landscape from which it is based further emphasises its height and dramatic appeal. If you can stomach heights, it is well worth tackling the stairs (or get the lift) to appreciate the views.
Louvre – This is an art lover’s paradise. It is home to many of the world famous classics like Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.
River Seine – Depending on which side of the river you decide to take a stroll on you will discover a true side of Paris. Either way, it gives you ample time to appreciate some of the beautiful architecture that characterises this romantic city.
Notre Dame – A true representation of classic Gothic culture, this cathedral is one of the most dramatic, beautiful and impressive landmarks in Paris.
Events
Paris Fashion Week – If you take flights to Paris at the end of February or in early March you will find a city in its element. With every major designer, fashion house and model in the world descending on Paris during this famous week, the air turns decidedly artisan and the city is in its full pomp.
Paris Fashion Week – No this isn’t a repeat, the Paris Fashion Week returns in October for more glitz and glamour.
Open Air Cinema Festival – During July to August Le Parc de la Villette is transformed into a massive open air cinema with regular showings of classics or popular modern realises. Most will be in subtitles but this doesn’t detract from romanticism of the occasion.
PGA Open Da Paris – In June the French leg of the European Tour tees off on the outskirts of Paris, showing that there is an appeal to sports lovers as well as culture vultures and couples on romantic breaks.
